Shafer Trail E-Dirt Bike Tour
About This Adventure
Shafer Trail was carved into the canyon wall by uranium miners in the 1950s who needed a way down from the Island in the Sky plateau to the White Rim below — a series of steep switchbacks descending 1,400 feet through Canyonlands terrain that most people only see from the rim overlooks. On an electric dirt bike, the engine noise disappears and the canyon takes over: the La Sal Mountains behind you, the Colorado River visible far below, the entire Colorado Plateau spreading in every direction.
Open to riders fourteen and up with no prior dirt bike experience required, your guide handles pacing and safety while you handle the view. The trail has been here for seventy years and holds up just fine. 2.5 hours.
