The White Rim Road runs along a cream-colored sandstone terrace between the Island in the Sky mesa and the canyon floor below — one of the most celebrated 4x4 routes in the American West. Most people know the White Rim as a multi-day mountain bike or jeep route; the full-day tour compresses the essential sections into a single long day without skipping anything worth seeing.
The route crosses drainages, traverses canyon walls, and delivers overlooks of the Colorado and Green River corridors that don't appear on most Canyonlands maps. Upheaval Dome, Murphy Hogback, the Potash Ponds — your guide narrates all of it with the fluency that comes from having driven it dozens of times. Lunch included.
