Island in the Sky projects into Canyonlands on three sides, with canyon walls dropping nearly 2,000 feet to the rivers below. The scale of the place is difficult to process from the rim overlooks. From a helicopter at altitude, the full geometry resolves — the way the two rivers converge at Confluence Point, the White Rim tracing its terrace between the mesa and the canyon floor, the impact crater at Upheaval Dome visible in perfect plan view.

The 45-minute flight covers the full district with time to hover over the specific formations that warrant a closer look. Your pilot provides continuous narration and positions the aircraft for the photographs that the overlook roads can only approximate.

Cancellation Policy

Passengers are required to request cancellation at least 24 hours in advance of their tour to receive a full refund. Cancellations inside 24 hours are not eligible to have their fares refunded.

• Do we actually fly over the national park?+

  Yes! You will fly directly over Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and even Monument Valley.

• What should we bring?+

  Water, a light jacket, your camera, and a smile! Every passenger gets a window seat, so have that camera ready.

• What is the minimum age?+

  All ages are welcome on our flights! Children over 24 months must sit in their own seat. Booster pillows are provided by Redtail Air for younger passengers.

• How big is the helicopter? How many people can fit?+

  Our helicopters seat up to 3 passengers for an intimate experience. For larger groups, multiple helicopters can fly together.
