About This Adventure

After dark, the Colorado River and the canyon walls around it become a different kind of place. This jet boat tour — running since 1963, making it one of the longest-running attractions in the Moab area — uses synchronized lighting and narration to illuminate the sandstone formations along the river corridor after sunset.

The Colorado runs quietly at night; the canyon amplifies sound in interesting ways; and the sky overhead, with no light pollution visible from the water, is a full-on spectacle of its own. Two hours; departs nightly after dark.

• How long is the Dinner & Light Show?+

  The experience lasts about 3 hours, combining a cowboy-style dutch-oven dinner with a narrated evening cruise on the Colorado River.

• What kind of dinner is included?+

  You’ll enjoy a hearty dutch-oven style meal with a variety of meats and side dishes, including potatoes, salads and a dessert option. Soft drinks are included while alcoholic beverages are available for purchase. Vegetarian options are available. Please let us know any preferences at booking.

• Will I get wet on this trip?+

  This is a calm-water cruise on the Colorado River. Guests stay dry and comfortable throughout the evening.

• Are there any stairs on the boat?+

  There are two steps down into the boat, in addition to a staircase with a railing leading to the dock where you will board the boat. The maximum number of stairs is 30, but there may be less than that depending on the water level of the river.

• Where does the tour depart from?+

  You’ll meet directly at the launch site on the Colorado River. Parking and restrooms are available before departure, and full directions will be provided in your confirmation email.

• Is this trip suitable for kids?+

  Yes. Families often choose this evening experience because the light show and narration keep kids engaged, while the calm waters make it comfortable for all ages. However, teens may appreciate the Spin & Splash Jetboat tour or a rafting trip on the Colorado River over the Dinner & Light Show.
